I have found JacksonWhite Law to be knowledgeable, friendly, and timely. My case is a bit complicated because I function as conservator and Guardian of my ward under a court in another state while Arizona is the residence state for my ward. JacksonWhite has kept things working for me and my ward with little effort from me. They simplify my life and responsibilities.
Stay away from this firm, especially attorney Ryan Hodges. I made the mistake of choosing this law firm to handle my mother's estate. Mr. Hodges misrepresented and overstated his capabilities and experience. I was looking for an attorney that was equipped and experienced to handle a contentious estate that may involve litigation. Mr. Hodges said that he was experienced in litigation and contentious estates. He was not, and when the time for litigation came, he emailed me to advise me to find another firm that was better equipped to handle the litigation. When I questioned why he initially said he could take this case, Mr. Hodges clarified that he was not experienced, but his partner was. According to Mr. Hodges, his partner left the firm, and he could not take the case through litigation.In addition to his lack of experience, Mr. Hodges was incredibly sloppy. All of his draft filings were riddled with errors (incorrect grammar, misspellings, improper syntax). I spent many hours editing his drafts and sending them back. I was shocked to see the laziness and carelessness. It was unprofessional. And of course, he still billed us for the shoddy work.I provided Mr. Hodges with ample evidence of the misdeeds of a family member at the heart of the challenges with the estate. Initially, Mr. Hodges was confident and reassuring. However, when the 'other side' changed counsel, Mr. Hodges quickly changed his tone. Mr. Hodges now wanted to settle. The new opposing firm had Mr. Hodges out of his league. His lack of experience continued to surface. He improperly deposed the other side. His errors in his filings continued, and that cost the estate more money. When I challenged him on some of these errors, he offered to 'half' his hourly rate when the billing came due. And when it came to billing, there were errors and overcharges on that front too.I regret choosing this firm and Mr. Hodges. There was ample evidence and a strong case at the beginning. Unfortunately, Mr. Hodges did little to fight for the estate. I did consult additional attorneys once I realized that Mr. Hodges was incompetent and jeopardized the case. Sadly, we were too far down the road with this firm. On top of the loss of a loved one, the weight of the case became too much. The family decided to close the chapter and settle. Other attorneys that I interviewed sounded shocked at the situation the estate was in.I did a great deal of research on law firms before selecting JacksonWhite. Their reviews on Google and legal review sites were/are good. So maybe we got stuck with a bad apple from a good orchard. But when it comes to something as sacred as settling an estate, I suggest you don't take that gamble with JacksonWhite.

RE John Skiba, attorney for Debt Relief & Bankruptcy. I contacted John regarding 2 judgments that were granted in Maricopa County in 2013. I had LOTS of questions & troubling concerns about foreclosing on my totally paid off home and if I were to sell it, what problems I might encounter. After a 30 min consultation, John TOTALLY set my mind at ease. He answered EVERY one of my questions & gave me recommended options and actions to take or NOT to take. I was impressed that BEFORE our conversation, he did research on the HOMESTEAD act changes coming in 2022 AND the actual judgments... so when we spoke & I questioned things he was already TOTALLY aware and had no reservations about recommending possible outcomes. AND he advised me that IF we chose to negotiate for a settlement it would be wise to be prepared to offer 20-40% of the original judgment (in my case), which was also good news. My experience with Jackson White Law was Great! Worth every dollar! The benefits that were allowed by ALTC for my husband's care, were equal to my attorney fees! In other words; I gained more dollars, than what the cost in the 2nd year of his care! This would have not occurred without the attorney's intervention!As well I had the peace of mind that all forms were filled out correctly! Approval was fast! I needed a guardianship over my brother and was referred to JacksonWhite Law firm where I met Colton Johnston who ultimately handled my case. He listened to what I had to say and his firm took over. I hired Jackson White in 2015 after my mom needed services to protect her estate. Their name was given to me by a gentlemen who placed seniors in care facilities. I was introduced to Ms. Court and was extremely pleased talking with her and having the firm represent me for my mom. Through the years I had further conversations with two attorneys, Ryan Hodges and Colton Johnston who was helpful in answering any questions I may have had concerting the trust. I can say the attorneys I have encountered in this probate were extremely caring and helpful and kept me informed every step of the way inasmuch as this was the first time I experienced their expertise. I would recommend the firm the their attorneys for their kindness and expertise. They were always quick to answer my questions and we did this from afar. I live in San Diego and they in Mesa, AZ. The matter is now closed my mom having passed away in March 2021 but I feel very comfortable knowing that I was treated kindly and professionally.
****I didn't end up using their services (explanation below), but the level of service and information I received was easily 100x better than any information I got from the almost 10 other AZ Employment Law attorneys that I reached out to before contacting Jackson White Law. ****I spoke to the Employment Law Dept.'s legal assistant, Nirali. She was incredibly patient, professional, and actively listened to me. She reviewed my inquiry with one of the attorneys to see if they'd be able to take on my case and she called me back the very next day.Since my claim was for such a small amount, she explained that she didn't want to have me end up losing all the money I could get to attorney fees -- or worse, end up owing more money to the attorney than what I could potentially get. She then gave me information regarding how to pursue my claim myself through the Industrial Commission of Arizona.I cannot express how grateful I am for the time and information Nirali gave me. Over the last 10 years I have had to assist with the care and financial matters of close relatives. In 2012, I needed to assume the guardianship and act as conservator for my paternal aunt. I found Jackson White attorneys that specialized in elderly care and would take work in Navajo County, Arizona. I had exceptional assistance, care, and advice. So, in 2020 when my cousin passed away, I turned back to Jackson White.The attorney assigned to me was Ryan Hodges. My cousin had a trust, but I was unable to find it. Mr. Hodges also tried the leads I gave him to locate this trust.As my cousin’s parents preceded him in death, there was no current spouse, and he had no children, I was next in line to probate his estate. I was familiar with his financial affairs since I was assigned his mother’s care in 2012.I reached out to Jackson White and Ryan Hodges. Mr. Hodges was up front and honest with my situation and my cousin’s financial situation. There were 16 cousins and 2 uncles that were part of my cousin’s estate. Ryan candidly advised me that after debts there would be little if any monies left to distribute. I did decide to continue so I could pay my cousins debtors in full.This estate probate was handled in Pima County, Arizona with me residing in New Mexico. Everything was done remotely, and Mr. Hodges arranged for me to call into the court hearing. Mr. Hodges assisted me through the court proceedings, filing of claims, distribution of assets, getting a bond, and finalizing the paperwork.I could not have accomplished the probate without Mr. Hodges and a couple of trips to Florence, AZ. During the pandemic, I was grateful to do everything remotely. And I was relieved that everything was according to current Arizona laws.I successfully became the personal rep for my cousin’s estate. I successfully paid his debtors in full. And Mr. Hodges was right, that there were no assets to distribute to the heirs. But I have my cousin buried with his parents and a clean conscious that those that gave my cousin assistance in the last year of his life were repaid for their out-of-pocket expenses.If I ever need additional assistance from an attorney in Arizona, I will gladly call upon Jackson White.
JacksonWhite Attorneys at Law did a great job at helping me when my husband passed away. He will tell you exactly what is going on and will explain things to you until you understand. And I really needed that so thank you Colton.It may take him 3-4 days to get back with you but he constantly sends emails and will call you if he is not too busy. But I like that if he was too busy someone from the staff will contact you or send you emails. Colton and the rest of the team at JacksonWhite were VERY professional and have integrity. They also have compassion and empathy which is hard to find these days.I would highly recommend them. I have been working with them for almost a year. And I am like Colton, I don’t sugarcoat anything.
