Looking back to 2011, the number of Arizona DUI arrests went up yet again. Here are some of the numbers as reported in an article on KVOA.com:
2010 - 19,353 DUI arrests
2011 - 27,125 DUI arrests
Furthermore, the article also noted that the total amount of regular DUI, aggravated DUI and extreme DUI arrests combined has increased steadily since 2003. One possible reason for the steady increase in DUI arrests could be the fact that Arizona law enforcement officers have really started to focus on identifying and prosecuting DUI offenders. Arizona residents and visitors must make sure that they understand Arizona DUI law before they decide to get behind the wheel of a car. DUI offenses are taken extremely serious in the Phoenix metro area, and the consequences can be extremely severe if convicted. If you live out of state, but get caught driving under the influence in areas like Scottsdale, Tempe and Phoenix, don’t think that you will get off easy. The prosecutor involved in your DUI case will probably try to prosecute you to the full extent of the law.
