Otto Shill is a shareholder at JacksonWhite. His practice focuses on complex business issues and transactions including business and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, employee compensation, benefits, contracts, employer regulatory issues, business and wealth succession and estate tax planning.
Bar Admissions: Otto was admitted to practice law in Arizona in 1985 and in Texas in 1991. He is also licensed to practice in the United States Tax Court and United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
Education and Honors: Otto is a graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and holds an L.L.M. in Taxation from Boston University. He served as an author and editor for the Boston University Journal of Tax Law in 1987.
Professional Activities and Experience: Otto is an active member of the Employee Benefits Committee (Executive Compensation Subcommittee) of the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation. He is active in the community having served as the president of the Board of Directors of the United Food Bank in Mesa, Arizona. He is currently a member on the Boards of Directors for the Mesa YMCA, the Metropolitan Youth Symphony and the Falcon Field Tenants and User’s Association. Otto is also a member of the Mesa Downtown Rotary Club. Otto has been given a rating of AV, the highest given through Martindale Hubble’s® Peer Review Ratings system.
Personal: Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Otto was a shareholder in the firm of Goulding & Shill, P.C. practicing tax, business, estate planning and labor and employment law. Otto is married to JoAnna and has five children. He enjoys flying, aircraft construction, computers, and bicycling.
