Mel Gibson and Child Support

Wow, you thought you had a high child support order.  Mel Gibson was recently ordered to start paying the mother of his child an additional $15,000 per month, bringing his child support order up to $20,000 per month.  Apparently Mr. Gibson was so disgusted by the support order, he wrote the first check himself, from his personal checking account, on a roll of toilet paper.   “Yea, we all know how much toilet paper costs these days and how rare it’s becoming in California,” he stated. “I figured she’s gonna need all the help she can get seeing as what I pay her doesn’t seem to be enough to wipe her own bottom.”

The mother’s attorney confirmed that the check is indeed legal tender and that it has already cleared the bank, although not written on the particular brand of toilet paper the mother prefers.  “For $15.000.00,” mother’s attorney stated, “it should have at least been written on a brand name toilet paper, not the one-ply garbage from one of those box stores.”

Child custody disputes and the resulting child support orders from those disputes do not just get heated among the celebrities. They can be the source of turmoil not matter how much the order or what the custody arrangement. If you have questions about your pending or current parenting time arrangement and child support laws in Arizona, make sure you counsel with an attorney familiar with the law.
