I am what you might call a typical male figure. I enjoy watching sports as much as the next guy. Having grown up Arizona, I am rather loyal to the local teams. The only exception would be in college football and basketball, where I will always be rooting for the Oklahoma Sooners (I earned my law degree from Oklahoma). However, no team gets me as excited (and at times more disappointed) than my Phoenix Suns. I enjoy watching a good game of basketball, and am always hopeful that the next season will be THE season for the Suns.
Unfortunately, as you likely know the Suns will not be playing for some time because of the NBA lockout. The labor dispute between the players union and the owners has put several thousand people out of a job. It is not likely that many of these people will have to file bankruptcy because they all made such large salaries, and if they were wise and planned for the future they still have plenty of money to support themselves and their family. However, the lockout is evidence of how easy it is for financial security to slip away.
Anybody can save for the worst, but no matter how much money you have, if you are without a job for a long enough period of time, anybody could be facing a bankruptcy. In these times, it is imperative that you seek legal advice to see how to best protect yourself and your family.
