Stop Debt Collector Phone Calls This morning on the Today Show they did a segment on debt collectors and how aggressive they have become. (you can view the video segment here).  Many of my clients that are facing bankruptcy tell me the horror stories of receiving numerous telephone calls a day (one client was receiving over 40 calls a day) as well as abusive behavior.  At times, the debt collector is harassing a person who doesn’t even owe the debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) prohibits abusive behavior by debt collectors.  If a collection agency is harassing you by calling you early in the morning or late at night, threatening criminal action against you, using obscene language, or otherwise threatening you, you may be entitled to damages as well as having any attorney’s fees paid for.

I offer a free bankrutpcy consultation where we can discuss your specific situation. I can be reached at (480) 648-8975.
